picky eater

Do you have a picky eater in your house?
I do, My 3rd old has been on a Corn Dog kick. Yes I said Corn Dog!!! That's the only thing he wants to eat for breakfast, lunch & dinner. But he doesn't always get what he wants. He also loves to tell us that meat is "nasty". I've had tired to hide meat in all kinds of food. He is to smart he picks the meat out. A plus is that he loves milk and we give him vitamins since he wont eat very much of the what we call good stuff!!
I'm sure I'm not the only mom out there that has a picky eater. Feel free to leave me some tips on how to get him to eat "the good stuff"

  1. I have the same issue with my 13months old. She was on a mac n cheese and chicken nuggetts kick, now she has to have nuggetts with ranch. No veggies. All she wants is milk. No more mac n cheese.

  2. I was hoping you had some good tips! I have a 5 year old that has been picky since he was born. He lives on corn dogs, chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese. We did recently discover that he will eat fried catfish! He will have nothing to do with fruits and vegetables. I give him vitamin drinks, etc. to supplement the lost nutrition. I have researched and tried every tip I have ever read over the past 5 years and nothing has worked yet, but I will continue to try to help him overcome being picky. Good luck to you, as well!!

  3. I'm thinking I may step on a couple toes here, but I'm going to tell you my theory...Here it goes, kids will eat what is given to them, if they don't, they will eventually eat when they get hungry.

What I do: I cook a meal at least every other night and we eat left overs...our meal always has meat and a veggie at least. My kids are served their food and THAT is dinner!! The only choice they have is to try it and if they don't like it they can eat it anyway or they can not eat. Your kids are NOT going to starve themselves, at least my never had. Now hear me clear, there will be tears and tantroms that go along with this, but they will eventually get the hang of it. I cook off a 6 week meal plan that I have created for myself. These are combined meals of mine, my husband, and kids favorites...what does this mean, it's not always going to be "your" favorite meal, but someone will always be happy :)

My neice will ONLY eat McDonald's and Chick fil a, but when she comes to Aunt Shawna's house, she knows she will be fed what everyone else is fed.

Now, I want you to know, my kids still eat chicken nuggets, corndogs, mac n cheese, and fast food, but this is what we have done to stay on a budget and to give our family varity. Check my blog after tomorrow and I will post my recipes, meal plan, and grocery list.

    Be blessed!
